It's Plane-sailing for AR Demolition and their VTN CI hydraulic scrap shears

One such application is being undertaken by ECY Haulmark’s long standing customer AR Demolition, who are currently utilising their VTN CI3000 shear to dismantle and recycle end of life Boeing 747 aeroplanes. AR Demolition have so far dismantled a number of this model of aeroplanes since purchasing the shear from ECY Haulmark. Their forty tonne Keisel multi carrier can operate with the VTN CI3000 shear on the long or short arm option, both optional arms and associated attachments are fitted with the OilQuick automatic quick coupler system for a quick, safe and versatile changeover with the operator remaining inside the cab throughout.

These end of life 747’s are being taken out of service and dismantled over time to make way for more fuel efficient aeroplanes. The waste produced by the dismantled aircraft will see the aluminium recycled into things like beer cans, with the seats and internal furniture being recycled for re-use on other aircraft or repurposed by collectors into novelty items for resale.
